i was born during an unusual december ice storm in ft worth
texas. i am a visionary artist, self taught and from the
hills of west virgina. in high school i had guidance from visual
artist, larry mattingly, who gave me a firm foundation of
the concepts of aesthetics and discipline. after high school i
joined the US Army and was sent to Germany where i
explored my personal vision and developed my sense of line
and form in the landscape of Europe. once i was discharged,
i began oil painting. sharing a studio with another artist
from west virginia here in baltimore, i learned the
importance of the art community to share ideas, techniques,
and support. i have been blessed to have that from art
professors and artists here in baltimore. over the past few
years i have shown at various baltimore business
establishments and galleries. included in the maryland state
arts registry.
"Her vibrant paintings, drawings, and mixed media pieces
reflect her amazing performances. They are often brilliant
red in palette, warm with love. Filled with powerful, whirling
lines and strokes, they capture life and imaginary events
where motion plays the lead role—" doreen bolger...art-full

"Heather is prolific. The first show of her work I saw
stretched over an eighty foot wall. It takes discipline and a
strong work ethic to create such a large volume of layered,
lacquered and consistently beautiful artwork. Heather is
often told that her kinetic paintings remind people of
mobiles, that there’s a physicality and motion in them..."
